Description

We are looking for a meticulous and dedicated Payroll Clerk in Smyrna, Georgia. This role is pivotal in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for both hourly and salaried field employees, primarily focusing on multi-state payroll compliance and detailed timekeeping. The ideal candidate will thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment and possess strong interpersonal skills to handle payroll inquiries with professionalism and empathy.

Responsibilities:

• Process weekly payroll for 300–400 field employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance using payroll software.

• Review and enter timecard data, including calculations for overtime, shift differentials, and multi-state taxation.

• Conduct audits of payroll entries and timekeeping records to identify and resolve discrepancies.

• Ensure payroll operations adhere to state and federal regulations across multiple states.

• Address employee inquiries related to paychecks or payroll matters with empathy and professionalism.

• Collaborate with team members to streamline payroll processes and maintain efficiency.

• Assist with secondary payroll runs to handle corrections or updates as needed.

• Follow established payroll procedures to maintain consistency and accuracy.

• Support the implementation and use of Jonas Construction software or similar systems for payroll processing.

Requirements • Minimum of 1–3 years of experience in payroll, accounting, or data entry; construction payroll experience is a plus.

• Familiarity with payroll systems such as Jonas Construction, ADP Workforce Now, or Ceridian Dayforce is beneficial.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Basic knowledge of payroll processing, tax regulations, and overtime calculations.

• Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and ask questions.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with employees and address inquiries effectively.

• Ability to adapt to a structured and high-performing work environment.

• Experience with accounting software systems and auditing processes is highly desirable.
