Description
Looking for a PC Technician with basic skillsets is responsible for providing technical support, performing hardware and software troubleshooting, and ensuring the functionality of desktop and laptop computers in an organization, in Baton Rouge area. This role plays a key part in maintaining smooth day-to-day IT operations by addressing technical issues and supporting end-users with their computing needs.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnostics on computers, including hardware components, operating systems, software applications, and peripherals.
+ Install, configure, and update operating systems (e.g., Windows, macOS) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
+ Set up and deploy new desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripheral devices for end-users based on the organization's needs.
+ Manage basic network connections and troubleshoot connectivity issues related to workstations.
+ Replace defective components such as hard drives, RAM, or power supplies under supervision.
+ Provide basic technical support to employees via phone, email, or in-person for issues related to hardware and software.
+ Maintain equipment inventory and ensure accurate tracking of IT assets.
+ Report recurring issues or unresolved technical problems to higher-level IT staff or management.
+ Implement and adhere to standard safety measures and data security protocols.
+ Assist with data backup, recovery, and transferring files between devices as required.
Requirements
Required Skills and Qualifications
+ Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripheral troubleshooting.
+ Familiarity with operating systems such as Microsoft Windows and macOS.
+ Basic understanding of network concepts (e.g., IP addresses, Ethernet, Wi-Fi).
+ Effective written and verbal communication skills to assist non-technical users.
+ Ability to prioritize tasks, follow instructions, and work under supervision.
+ Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools or technologies.
+ High school diploma or equivalent required
