Description We are looking for an experienced Staff Accountant to join our team on a contract basis. This role is based in Chatsworth, California, and offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to a non-profit organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and be well-versed in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

Responsibilities:

• Process and manage accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and efficiently.

• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure financial records are balanced and up-to-date.

• Maintain and update general ledger accounts, ensuring all entries align with organizational policies.

• Prepare and post journal entries to support month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Assist in the month-end close process by analyzing account data and generating necessary reports.

• Utilize accounting systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP for financial operations.

• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support budgeting processes.

• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements in all financial tasks.

• Identify and address discrepancies in financial records to maintain accuracy.

• Support audits by providing documentation and detailed account information as required. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a non-profit organization.

• Proficiency in managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions.

• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP.

• Strong understanding of journal entries and month-end close procedures.

• Familiarity with performing bank reconciliations and resolving discrepancies.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
