Description

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Controller to join a growing organization in south Denver. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to financial leadership by overseeing accounting operations and ensuring compliance with established standards. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise in full-cycle accounting to support the company’s financial goals and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and consolidate financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.

• Design and implement effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and maintain financial integrity.

• Oversee general ledger activities, ensuring timely and accurate entries.

• Deliver comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses to guide decision-making.

• Collaborate on the budgeting process, providing valuable insights and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

• Research and address complex accounting issues in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

• Monitor and report cost variances, offering recommendations for cost optimization.

• Act as the primary liaison with external auditors, facilitating audits and ensuring smooth communication.

• Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting teams to maintain operational efficiency.

Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of experience in full-cycle accounting.

• Proficiency in bank reconciliations and journal entries.

• Strong understanding of financial statement preparation and consolidation.

• Knowledge of GAAP and the ability to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Experience with budgeting processes and cost variance analysis.

• Demonstrated ability to manage and implement internal controls.

• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teams and external auditors.

• Leadership experience in overseeing accounting departments or teams.
