    Description

    We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our client's accounting team on a contract basis in San Francisco. This role is ideal for someone who is thorough, organized, and takes pride in producing accurate work. The successful candidate will support general ledger activities, reconciliations, and month-end close processes while maintaining a high standard of reliability and professionalism.

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger

    + Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing procedures

    + Reconcile bank accounts and other balance sheet accounts

    + Maintain accurate records of intercompany transactions and account activity

    + Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports

    + Support audits and help maintain compliance with internal controls

    + Perform variance analysis and investigate discrepancies

    + Handle accounting tasks with consistency, accuracy, and accountability

    + Support the finance team with other projects and tasks as needed

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred

    + 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience

    + Solid understanding of accounting principles and GAAP

    + Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP)

    + Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    + Demonstrated reliability and a strong work ethic

    + Ability to follow through on tasks and meet deadlines

    + Clear communication skills and a collaborative attitude
