Description Adam Wood with Robert Half Finance and Accounting is assisting a global manufacturing services business with their search for an experienced Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading and managing the overall operations of the accounting department, with a strong focus on people leadership, process oversight, and monthly financial reporting. This role will oversee the AR/AP teams and month-end close functions—not by performing transactional tasks—but by managing performance, reviewing reconciliations, coaching team members, and ensuring deadlines and standards are met. The ideal candidate will bring a strong understanding of GAAP and experience managing accounting teams with a focus on continuous improvement and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide leadership and strategic oversight to the accounting team, including Accounts Receivable Cycle, Accounts Payable Cycle, and month-end close functions.
• Manage and review monthly account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion across all balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee the month-end and year-end close process across multiple entities, ensuring consistency and GAAP compliance.
• Perform weekly check runs, ACH, and wire payment creation.
• Oversee and ensure timely and accurate bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations each month.
• Support weekly cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
• Review team output including journal entries, Bill entries, expense reports, reconciliations, and financial calculations—providing constructive feedback and support for improvements
• Coach, develop, and motivate team members through regular one-on-ones, performance feedback, and career development guidance.
• Ensure intercompany transactions and consolidations are accurately reflected.
• Overseeing the month-end and year-end processes for multiple entities.
• Drive process improvements and maintain up-to-date Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across accounting operations.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for the department and address gaps proactively.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance with GAAP, company policy, and audit requirements.
• Handling ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Controller & CFO.
Preferred Attributes:
• NetSuite or Oracle ERP experience
• Experience working in a multi-entity or manufacturing environment
• Strategic mindset with strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Hands-on involvement in developing/building an accounting team Requirements
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with 1-2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
• Strong understanding of the full accounting Cycle
• Prior experience in AR/AP cycle and general ledger functions
• Experience and application of GAAP and internal controls
• Demonstrated success in leading, overseeing, and coaching accounting staff; able to give feedback and develop others
• Proficiency in ERP systems (NetSuite/Oracle preferred) and Excel capabilities
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to partner cross-functionally
• Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment
• Proven ability to lead through change and drive improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
