About the role:
AIG’s GLCR department is looking for an experienced Paralegal in New York, NY to assist the Parent Litigation Group in their management of litigation involving the parent company, American International Group, Inc. The position will report to the Deputy General Counsel and will provide day-to-day support to the attorneys in the corporate and coverage litigation groups.
Primary responsibilities for this position include:
+ Manage Litigation’s compliance with the Sarbanes Oxley Act obligations through the quarterly reporting of AIG’s significant litigation matters and the legal contingencies process.
+ Manage the routing and response to service of process on AIG, Inc., including issuing subpoena objection letter responses and directing documents received to appropriate internal attorneys and claims/coverage groups.
+ Oversee the litigation hold notice process for the litigation group, including the issuance of legal holds and maintenance of the legal hold docket for the litigation group.
+ Manage the securities and antitrust class action litigation docket for AIG, Inc., AIG Investments, and other AIG entities.
+ Help manage docket of litigation files, including gathering and inputting detailed case information, by utilizing internal electronic systems, including DOE Legal’s case management application, Ascent.
+ Oversee the annual updating of the Corporate Litigation Group’s policies, procedures and protocols.
+ Edit and organize reports to senior management concerning specified litigation matters.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
+ College degree and/or Paralegal certificate is preferred.
+ 3+ year(s) of experience as a Paralegal, Case Manager or Legal Secretary is preferred.
+ Experience with Insurance and Litigation is a plus.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (with a focus on Word & Excel) and have the ability to learn other computer applications.
+ Must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
+ Must be collaborative, highly organized, able to multi-task, work independently, deadline oriented and able to interact with senior leaders in the organization.
The base salary range is $75,600-$94,500. In addition, the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
