    _Job Summary:_

    The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, implementing, conducting, monitoring and/or evaluating technical, cGMP, safety and/or administrative programs for new and existing employees; Work closely with the various department managers to develop programs and plan curriculums; and Actively participate in site training programs to ensure the highest level of compliance, safety and conformance to procedures that are specified by BPRs (batch production records), SOP’s, cGMP’s and OSHA standards.

    _Essential Job Duties:_

    + Plans, develops, coordinates and/or implements traditional 1:1 and group training sessions for employees in an operational area as well as other site training programs. Create and update training materials as needed.

    + Ensures the completeness and accuracy of department training records through periodic self-audits and issuance of reports.

    + Participates as an active member of the site training team.

    + Proactively creates, implements, and evaluates measurements of the effectiveness of area training programs using formats such as proficiency checklists, assessments.

    + Identifies patterns or trends within the organization and participates in training needs assessments to develop recommendations for training intervention.

    + Collaborates and coordinates with other common areas to ensure consistency of training programs and documentation of training.

    + Builds and maintains professional status and working relationships with internal and external training leaders and technical associations relating to training, quality operations, and safety.

    + Uses leadership skills to motivate and coach personnel and set example for others.

    + Monitors and reports monthly training achievements versus goals for all technical personnel.

    + Provides technical support to assist in the development and revision of departmental procedures.

    _Knowledge, Skils and Abilities:_

    + Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, laboratory practices, and strong knowledge of GMP and other related compendia is essential.

    + Requires outstanding verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong presentation, facilitation skills, including proven teaching ability.

    + Must be able to interact successfully with a range of professionals and skilled personnel.

    + Possess a thorough understanding of adult learning theory.Computer proficient with word processing, spread sheet, power point, and training database programs.

    + Ability to proficiently and effectively use AV equipment for presentations including TV, DVD, LCD projector with laptop.

    + Facilitates learning in our changing environment and produces results from innovative training programs.

    + Makes decisions using tracking and trending of training data that influence the goals of the department.

    _Experience:_

    + A minimum of a Bachelor Degree in one of the Life Sciences, Health Care or other Science or Engineering Bachelor Degree or the equivalent of 4 years of industry experience is also required.

    + Minimum 4+ years of relevant experience in a FDA regulated industry including a minimum of 2 years of experience in training, education or related area or a combination of relevant work experience and education.

     

    The estimated pay scale for the Technical Training Specialist role based in Los Angeles, CA , is $80,500 - $93,500 per year. Additionally, the position is eligible to participate in up to 5% of the company bonus pool. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
