The Lead Safety Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading comprehensive safety training programs for new and existing employees, focusing primarily on drivers and driving assistants. This role ensures all employees are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and resources to operate vehicles safely and efficiently while adhering to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices. The Lead Safety Trainer serves as a subject matter expert in transportation safety, driving standards, and operational procedures. Pay range is $23.50-$26.50 depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
+ Design and manage a training schedule to address safety and operational training needs.
+ Conduct needs assessments using surveys, interviews, and performance data to identify gaps and areas for improvement.
+ Collaborate with managers, trainers, and leadership to align training programs with company goals and safety standards.
+ Develop and maintain training materials, including handbooks, instructional guides, and multimedia resources, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
+ Deliver training sessions, including onboarding, safety refreshers, and specialized courses, using engaging and effective methods.
+ Lead safety seminars, hands-on workshops, and drills to enhance understanding and preparedness.
+ Coordinate and manage online learning platforms and ensure employees have access to digital resources.
+ Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through testing, observations, and performance reviews.
+ Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local transportation safety regulations.
+ Maintain a comprehensive database of training records and certifications for all employees.
+ Partner with external vendors and organizations to integrate new instructional technologies and enhance training content.
+ Provide ongoing mentorship and coaching to employees to foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
+ Monitor training costs, schedules, and equipment to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
+ Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 3 years of experience in a training, transportation, or safety-related role.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in safety or training methodologies preferred.
+ CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements required.
+ In-depth knowledge of transportation safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver clear and engaging training sessions.
+ Experience with instructional design, e-learning platforms, and multimedia training tools preferred.
+ Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement training improvements.
+ Highly organized, with excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
