    Job Overview:

    The President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Jersey City Medical Center (JCMC) will develop, execute, and drive the hospital s strategic and operational plan, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, while also addressing local community population and patient needs. The CEO will provide strategic leadership and oversight for the hospital and work closely with other senior leaders to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of exceptional, patient centered care and safe, high-quality access and outcomes.

    + Thomas Biga, Executive Vice President, President of the Northwest Region, RWJBarnabas Health

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 10 years of healthcare experience, including five years of executive leadership within a community hospital that is a member organization of a larger, multi-hospital system

    + Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in healthcare administration, business administration or other related discipline required

    + Demonstrated experience and success delivering excellent service, operational and quality outcomes within an acute-care hospital setting. Proven track record of success in hospital and/ service line operations

    + Strong business insight, a sophisticated knowledge of healthcare funding, and experience in competitive marketplaces with the ability to make complex and difficult decisions. Knowledge of healthcare regulations, laws, and industry trends. Experience with budgeting and financial planning processes

    + Prior experience leading within a matrixed organizational structure and managing physician relationships

    + Skill using and analyzing information systems to quickly recommend opportunities for optimization and efficiency

    + A record of recruiting, training, and mentoring employees. A reputation for sustained, inclusive, trust-based physician and employee relations through understanding of employee viewpoints and needs

    Essential Functions:

    + Achieve the highest level of performance in JCMC operating units. Establish, monitor, and manage strategies to ensure productivity, operational and financial performance, and patient throughput

    + Develop strategic initiatives necessary to integrate and expand services, as well, as add potential new services to meet the growing healthcare needs of the RWJBarnabas Health community

    + Enhance the quality, access, safety, and efficiency of patient services and increase patient satisfaction with a focus on performance excellence and high reliability

    + Leverage technology and data to continually measure results, improvements, and successes through key performance metrics

    + Work collaboratively with senior leaders to align clinical practice, safety, value-based initiatives, hospital, network, and system goals

    + Collaborate revenue cycle management, including billing services, ensuring appropriateness and timeliness of reimbursement, maintenance of policies and procedures related to professional and hospital fees, billing practices and data standards, and monitoring performance of internal billing processes

    + Oversee the hospital's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and achievement of financial targets

    + Foster robust, meaningful, and mutually beneficial relationships with community partners and physician members. This includes representing the hospital and system in local and national organizations and helping to recruit and retain high-quality physicians

    + In collaboration with Human Resources, recruit, develop, retain, and enhance employee engagement and foster a culture of collaboration and enthusiasm

    + Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including accreditation standards, Joint Commission regulations, and HIPAA guidelines

    + Facilitate system collaboration and work effectively with system senior leadership, department chairs, colleagues, and clinicians to achieve hospital, network and system goals

    + Design organizational services collaboratively with community leaders and organizations appropriate to the scope and level of care required by the patients served. Develop and participate in systematic and effective mechanisms for fostering communication among individuals and groups within the organization and the community

    + Optimize operations, finances, and customer service levels of JCMC; develop and execute long range, strategic, operational and space use plans for the organization; and measure success through key performance metrics, including productivity and quality.

    + Continue to further brand JCMC in the surrounding community and ensure an overall consistent patient experience

    + Demonstrate market agility in analyzing and evaluating opportunities for capital expansion

    + In partnership with Human Resources, recruit, develop, and retain the best talent that drives overall performance and satisfaction
