    We are currently hiring a 3rd Shift Machinist to join our high-skill, close-knit overnight team. If you’re experienced in CNC machining and thrive in a high-mix, low-volume environment, this is your chance to grow with a company that values craftsmanship and career advancement.

    Shift Details:

    + 3rd Shift start time: Options at 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM, or 12:00 AM

    + Shift length: 8 hours plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch

    + Team environment: Small team of machinists and maintenance professionals

     

    Position Summary: Operate and set up a Makino horizontal CNC mill center to perform complex machining operations—such as milling, reaming, drilling, and boring—on precision parts in a low-volume, high-variety environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Review work instructions, drawings, setup sheets, tool lists, and CNC programs

    + Load and secure parts using overhead cranes, hoists, and appropriate fixtures

    + Perform complex machining tasks using various cutting tools and rotating tool magazines

    + Edit CNC programs as needed and prove out new programs with minimal supervision

    + Perform in-process inspections using gauges, micrometers, and probes

    + Continuously load/unload to maintain operation during machine cycles

    + Apply a strong understanding of GD&T to meet tight tolerances

    + Suggest process improvements in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineering

    + Maintain cleanliness and safety standards throughout the work area

    Qualifications:

    Required:

    + High school diploma or GED

    + Minimum 2 years of CNC machining experience

    + Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading

    + Familiarity with precision measurement tools

    + Ability to edit and prove out CNC programs independently

    + Solid math skills and attention to detail

    Preferred:

    + Technical school certification or associate degree

    + Experience with multiple types of CNC machines

    + Knowledge of probing, advanced metrology, and PC skills
