Job Title: Framing Carpenter

Job Description

This position involves constructing the framework of commercial and industrial buildings using metal studs. The role requires proficiency in reading blueprints, using hand and power tools, and a commitment to safety protocols. Responsibilities include measuring, cutting, and assembling wood and metal into frames using tools such as squares, levels, and hammers.

Responsibilities

+ Construct the framework of commercial and industrial buildings using metal studs.

+ Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

+ Measure, cut, and assemble wood and metal materials into frames.

+ Utilize hand and power tools such as saws, drills, and levels efficiently.

+ Adhere to safety protocols at all times.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in metal stud framing.

+ Proficiency with hand and power tools including carpenter's square.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Possession of OSHA 10 certification.

+ Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in general labor, carpentry, framing, and rough carpentry.

+ Skilled in using a tape measure.

+ Familiarity with drywall hanging, metal framing, wood framing, acoustical ceilings, and drywall finishing.

Work Environment

Work is primarily conducted on commercial construction sites. Although indoors, the buildings are not fully heated or cooled, resulting in colder conditions in winter and warmer conditions in summer. The workforce comprises over 55 employees ranging from helpers to superintendents. Typical working hours are from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with variations depending on the general contractor's requirements and the specific jobsite.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, New York.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
