    Job Title: Manual Machinist

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic service and repair company specializing in pumps and rotating equipment as a Manual Machinist. You will work in the shop, reconditioning pumps from the field. This role involves machining parts for internal pump components, including shafts, sleeves, rings, impellers, heads, and casings, using a variety of machines such as manual lathes, drill presses, VTL, and knee mills.

    Must Haves

    + 5+ years of experience as a Manual Machinist.

    + Proficient in operating manual lathes and drill presses.

    + Ability to measure in 0.0001” and hold sizes within 0.0005”.

    + Skill in converting fractions to decimals and reading machinist scales.

    + Expertise in blueprint reading and machining various metals.

    Responsibilities

    + Recondition pumps from the field using manual machining techniques.

    + Machine parts for internal pump components including shafts, sleeves, rings, impellers, heads, and casings.

    + Operate manual lathe, drill press, VTL, and knee mills including Bullard VTL, Kingston & Acra lathes, Polamco drill press, and Acra knee mill.

    + Read and interpret blueprints to custom make job shop parts.

    + Machine metals such as Cast Iron, Bronze, carbon steel, stainless steel, and duplex stainless steel.

    + Maintain precise measurements, holding sizes within 0.0005” and converting fractions to decimals.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Deer Park, Texas.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $34.00/hr.
