Job Title: MRI Technologist IIJob Description

The MRI Technologist II is responsible for performing magnetic resonance imaging by operating equipment using magnetic fields according to established protocols. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of MRI technology, maintaining a high professional standard of conduct and patient care, and adhering to safety and confidentiality guidelines.

Responsibilities

+ Coordinate examination scheduling and ensure efficient patient processing.

+ Inform lead technologist or Radiology Operations Director about the efficiency or issues concerning the MRI system and work area.

+ Move, position, and transfer patients within strong magnetic and radio frequency fields.

+ Perform and document diagnostic patient examinations using magnetic resonance equipment according to established protocols.

+ Provide patient protection in accordance with safety standards through a specially designed screening procedure.

+ Acquire and document patient history for each MRI exam using designated forms or tech notes while maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality.

+ Document patient incidents according to established procedures.

+ Use PACS to transfer exam data to Radiologist for reading.

+ Maintain equipment and environmental cleanliness and orderliness.

+ Perform quality review checks and evaluate the MRI system daily for consistency of operation, documenting the information as required.

+ Ensure the safety of patients' families, physicians, hospital staff, and visitors in the Magnetic Resonance area.

+ Perform and document venipuncture and initiate IV Therapy using sterile technique and Universal Precautions Procedure when requested.

+ Use several peripheral devices associated with the operation of the Magnetic Resonance equipment.

+ Participate in committee activities as requested.

+ Assume call responsibility when assigned and assist with additional call outside the normal schedule as needed.

+ Participate in maintaining organizational indicators.

+ Demonstrate knowledge and competency in using age/anatomical specific technique in performing MRI exams.

+ Perform other related activities as requested by the Radiology lead.

Essential Skills

+ Registered in radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology with documented Continuing Education.

+ Advanced MRI Registry/certification.

+ Minimum of 2 years of experience in a hospital setting preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with GE and XRAY systems.

+ Ability to perform venipuncture and initiate IV Therapy.

Work Environment

The position involves working three 12-hour shifts with an every third weekend rotation, with varying hours from weekdays to weekends. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72000.00 - $112000.00/yr.
