Job Title: CDL A Driver – Heavy Haul & Side Dump Specialist
**Location:** Based in Calhan, Colorado
**Job Type:** Full-Time, Permanent
**Start Time:** 6:00 AM clock-in | 6:30 AM departure from shop
**Service Area:** Primarily between Pueblo and Lone Tree, with occasional travel to areas such as Fairplay and Rocky Ford
Position Overview
We are a growing, tight-knit construction and hauling company seeking a skilled and dependable CDL A Driver with hands-on experience in heavy haul and side dump operations. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to grow within a company that values hard work, reliability, and team spirit.
As our CDL A Driver, you will be responsible for transporting heavy equipment and materials to and from job sites, operating a variety of trucks, and stepping in to assist with labor tasks when needed. You will be the first on-site and the last to leave, playing a critical role in the success of each project.
Key Responsibilities
+ Safely load and secure heavy equipment onto lowboy trailers using proper strapping and tie-down techniques.
+ Transport equipment and materials to job sites across Colorado, ensuring timely and safe delivery.
+ Operate a range of vehicles including:
+ Semi trucks
+ Bobtail trucks
+ Water trucks
+ Dump trucks (including side dumps)
+ Assist with unloading equipment and materials at job sites.
+ Perform general labor duties when equipment is unavailable or road conditions (e.g., ice) prevent driving.
+ Maintain accurate logs and comply with all DOT regulations and safety standards.
+ Represent the company professionally as a reliable and proactive team member.
Required Qualifications
+ Valid Class A CDL license
+ 3–5 years of recent CDL A driving experience, preferably in construction or heavy equipment transport
+ Proven experience with:
+ Heavy haul operations
+ Side dump operations (dirt, aggregates, and other materials)
+ Loading and securing equipment on lowboy trailers
+ Working knowledge of DOT regulations and safety compliance
+ Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and adapt to changing job site conditions
Preferred Qualifications
+ Experience operating construction equipment (a plus)
+ Mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn basic truck and trailer maintenance
+ Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $62400.00/yr.
