    The schedule involves rotating shifts between 1st (7 a.m. to 3 p.m), 2nd (3 p.m. to 11 p.m.) and 3rd (11pm to 7am)

     

    Must be comfortable with working up to 2 consecutive days initially, including on-call schedules as part of the Steel Workers Union 1303 requirements.

    Job Description

    We are actively seeking a dedicated Mill Trainee to join our team at the Spring Grove location. This role primarily involves general production duties such as supplying lines with raw materials, unloading finished materials, and operating forklifts and hand trucks as needed. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment is paramount to this position.

    Responsibilities

    + Respect and enforce safety, quality, and environmental policies.

    + Learn all foundational jobs within a department.

    + Bring raw materials to the machine, including cores, skids, and blocks.

    + Move products around the Mill using hand trucks and clamp trucks.

    + Assist other operators with making splices and threading winders.

    + Learn to perform jobs safely and efficiently.

    + Monitor the quality of products at every operation.

    + Assist with moving, weighing, taping, and labeling products.

    + Perform cleanup duties for machine breaks or daily cleanups.

    + Assist with threading of machines.

    + Involve in simple mechanical tasks, including rope installation and lubrication duties.

    + Assist with Rewinding, Sheeting, and Wrapping operations.

    + Clean up broke generated by machines and recycle back into the process.

    + Ensure operations run safely and efficiently.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to interpret a tape measure down to a 1/16th of an inch.

    + General mechanical aptitude.

    + High School diploma or equivalent.

    + 1-5 years of related experience in production; manufacturing industry preferred.

    + Experience using a computer system to assist with the manufacturing process.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $50357.00 - $50357.00/yr.
