Job Title: Shop Helper
Job Description
As a Shop Helper, you will use a shot blasting machine to grind and remove rust from sheet metal in both the shop and yard. You will load equipment with raw material using the overhead crane or forklift to prepare for a productive run. Measuring materials before and after blasting to ensure compliance with customer specifications is essential. You will complete inspection reports, routers, and production reports accurately and package parts as per order requirements. This position is for the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, from 3 pm to 11 pm.
Responsibilities
+ Use a shot blasting machine to grind and remove rust from sheet metal.
+ Load equipment with raw material using the overhead crane or forklift.
+ Measure materials before and after blasting for compliance with specifications.
+ Accurately complete inspection reports, routers, and production reports.
+ Package parts according to order specifications.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with grinders, overhead cranes, sandblasting, shot blasting, and industrial painting.
+ Strong mechanical inclination.
+ 6+ months of experience with overhead crane or forklift operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in sheet metal manufacturing.
+ Sandblasting, industrial painting, or shot blasting experience preferred.

Work Environment
The work environment is a manufacturing setting that can be dirty and hot during the summer. However, large open doors help keep the area cool, and there is heating in the winter. The space is open and spacious. Working conditions may include exposure to loud noise, vibratory tools, repetitive motions, airborne particles like metal dust and chips, and chemicals such as coolants and oil. Physical requirements include continual standing, walking, lifting, twisting, and periodic bending, climbing, stooping, crawling, and crouching.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Little Canada, Minnesota.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.25 - $19.25/hr.
