Job Title: Maintenance Manager

Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is a pivotal role within our facility, directly reporting to the Plant Manager. This position is responsible for leading all maintenance functions to achieve operational excellence through proactive maintenance strategies, automation investments, and strong leadership of a unionized workforce. The ideal candidate will possess a hands-on approach, robust mechanical and electrical knowledge, and proven ability to coach and engage teams effectively.

Responsibilities

+ Lead and manage the maintenance department, including unionized staff across up to three shifts.

+ Ensure reliable operation of all plant equipment through preventive and predictive maintenance, focusing on automation and robotics.

+ Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kanban, Standardized Work, and Kaizen.

+ Develop and execute maintenance schedules, manage parts inventory, and control departmental budgets for labor and materials.

+ Utilize CMMS (preferably Hexagon) to track KPIs, equipment history, and maintenance performance.

+ Collaborate with production, safety, quality, and warehouse teams to ensure timely support and minimal downtime.

+ Serve as a hands-on leader to troubleshoot, coach, and develop team members while fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.

+ Communicate clearly and effectively across all levels of the organization, including with vendors and engineering teams.

+ Support capital projects and equipment upgrades by leveraging engineering studies and practical machine knowledge.

+ Champion safety, regulatory compliance, and GMP standards throughout the facility.

Essential Skills

+ Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, including knowledge of PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

+ Demonstrated experience with automation and robotics in a production setting.

+ Proven leadership in a unionized environment with the ability to engage and develop teams.

+ Experience with CMMS systems, with Hexagon preferred, and KPI-driven performance management.

+ Strong communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.

+ Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Reliability, or related field) required.

+ Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $53.00 - $58.00/hr.
