Minimum Qualifications
Six semester hours in accounting, business, economics, finance, management, information systems management, or quantitative methods plus one of the following:
Four years of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus one year of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
A bachelor's degree plus one year of experience in accounting, financial auditing, tax administration, tax policy or law, management analysis, or administrative services in a financial setting; OR
An advanced degree or Juris Doctorate; OR
Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information
Job Duties:
The Louisiana Sales and Use Tax Commission for Remote Sellers was created and established for the administration and collection of the sales and use tax imposed by the state and political subdivisions with respect to remote sales. This position will be based in our Audit and Compliance Section and will focus primarily on compliance, including the following:
Amended Returns and Refund Processing
+ Reviews/audits amended returns and supporting documentation, and makes a determination or recommendation of approval or denial in accordance with applicable laws and Commission adopted guidance.
+ Calculates penalties and interest as necessary, and makes appropriate adjustments to taxpayers’ accounts.
+ Authorize or recommend issuance of any refund or credit due after review of supporting documentation
+ Educate taxpayers regarding return and payment processing and management.
+ Responsible for system testing related to returns, payments, refunds, credits, debits, etc
+ Adheres to all state, local, and federal laws.
Failure to File and Failure to Pay Delinquencies and Assessments
+ Monthly system processing of compliance notices and issuance of bills to collect taxes owed.
+ Communicates and corresponds with taxpayers regarding delinquencies and assessments
+ Reviews returns and supporting documentation pertaining to resolution of compliance notices and makes a recommendation or determination if the compliance issue should be resolved
+ Calculates penalties and interest as necessary, and makes appropriate adjustments to taxpayers’ accounts.
+ Responsible for system testing related to applications.
+ Assist with the collection of delinquent accounts.
+ Adheres to all state, local, and federal laws.
Voluntary Disclosure Program
+ Reviews/audits Voluntary Disclosure return data and supporting documentation.
