    Job Summary

    Reporting to the EVP, Chief Delivery System Operations Officer, the SVP Supply Chain Services is responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving the supply chain functions of Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) in service of our customer centric strategy. These functions may include strategic sourcing, procurement, logistics, operations and inventory management, vendor management, bio-medical services, and supply chain technology. Develops and implements system-wide supply chain strategy, policies, procedures, and practices that meet service and quality standards, manage total costs appropriately, and are aligned with BSWH business objectives. Directs and coordinates the distribution of procured supplies and equipment throughout the organizational areas of responsibility. Monitors the flow of equipment, supplies, and materials through the BSWH supply chain and directs regular studies on service efficiency, key performance metrics, cost management, and benchmarks for supply chain planning and forecasting. Collaborates with leadership in clinical service lines, delivery system operations, finance, and other departments to drive improvement in supply chain management processes across BSWH system. Effectively leads the teams within supply chain and manages relationships with suppliers to optimize efficiency, reduce cost, and provide best in class patient care. Ensures compliance with all safety, legal, and regulatory requirements impacting BSWH supply chain programs, processes, and operations.

     

    A system Senior Vice President (SVP) sets policy and objectives within a major system business unit, regional entity, or system-level staff function for BSWH. Acts as business or functional expert requiring accomplished knowledge in many aspects of the work area, industry, and environment. Participates in broader strategy development with senior leadership. Has accountability for successful implementation of strategy. Decisions involve differing situations over a multi-year time horizon of at least three to five years. Typically interacts with system "Chief" leadership level or entity President. Oversees multiple levels of subordinate vice presidents, directors, and/or managers covering varied disciplines and skill levels. Has primary accountability for financial management, talent management, and input on major resource decisions. Translates and cascades corporate strategies and objectives to subordinate positions. Leads and monitors business performance.

    Essential Functions

    - Serves as top supply chain leader for BSWH and its affiliates.

     

    - Oversees all aspects of the supply chain function, including sourcing and contracting, purchasing, , warehouse operations, inventory distribution, vendor services, value analysis, healthcare technology management, and supply chain technology..

     

    - Leads the development and implementation of supply chain strategies and operational tactics designed to improve the strategic direction, positioning, and performance of BSWH and its affiliated organizations.

     

    - Leads and mentors a team of supply chain professionals, fostering a high-performing and collaborative environment.

     

    - Oversees the selection, negotiation, and management of suppliers to manage costs, reduce risk, and raise the quality of sourced products, supplies, and materials for BSWH.

     

    - Maintains compliance and minimizes risk for all applicable regulations, including environment, health, and safety (EH&S) compliance for the organization.

     

    - Identifies and applies supply chain management best practices in areas such as systems integration and optimization, inventory control, and demand planning.

     

    - Establishes, implements, and administers all supply chain policies, procedures, and practices, including the procurement of supplies, materials, equipment, and services for BSWH.

     

    - Oversees the multi-site logistics function driving improvements in optimal inventory, inventory turnover, and expiration levels, while maintaining high customer service levels and standards.

     

    - Tracks and analyzes key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of the supply chain and enabling procedural changes, new methods, or automation that increases efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

     

    - Provides operational oversight and integration of all supply chain systems to include our enterprise financial system, warehouse management system, par management systems, requisition to pay system, inventory systems, and EMR.

     

    Key Success Factors

     

    - Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, finance, or related degree. Masters preferred.

     

    - 10+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics management, procurement, or related field, preferably in healthcare industry.

     

    - 5+ years of experience in a leadership role.

     

    - Deep understanding of health care supply chain industry trends, challenges, and best practices.

     

    - Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.

     

    - Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.

     

    - Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and eProcurement and supply chain planning tools.
