I. Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, this position is responsible for designing, developing, coding, testing, and debugging new software and producing significant enhancements to existing software. Conducts complex business process analysis, needs assessments, and participates in design sessions with Architects in order to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. Undertakes complex projects requiring additional specialized technical knowledge in software design and testing.

II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily. Other ancillary duties may be assigned.

+ Undertakes the complex applications development projects involving multiple disciplines and technologies

+ Develops enterprise-level information technology solutions by analyzing, designing, coding, testing, and implementing new and by modifying existing software applications with full competency.

+ Coordinates with business analysts and architects in business and technical requirement analysis, effort estimation.

+ Articulates design and resolves technical/design conflicts as they occur

+ Delivers solution on time, ensuring quality and completeness of the deliverables

+ Identifies opportunities to improve and implements best practices, learnings and improvements

+ Takes ownership, mentors and fosters growth of peers and team members.

+ Proficiency in Python and Java

+ Cloud Technologies: AWS Services such as Lambda, IAM, S3, EFS, SQS, SNS, API Gateway, CLI, Kinesis, Glue, Elasticache, CloudWatch, CloudFormation

+ Experience working with Databases like Oracle, SQL, Server, PostgreSQLand NoSQL databases such as Cassandra and Dynamo DB

+ Experience with Big Data Technologies like Hadoop, Spark, EMR,

+ Experience working on complex cloud-based software projects, web application development, security and open-source technologies.

+ Full Stack Development is preferred including Front end technologies such as Front End – Angular, JavaScript, HTML5

+ Experience AI / ML / Data Science is preferred

+ Excellent Communication skills and ability to understand Functional / domain Requirements and business vision

+ Passionate about new technologies and willing to explore new technologies, Proof of concepts

+ Knowledge of Service Oriented, Microservices, and Event-driven design patterns

+ Systems development, implementation, upgrades and analyses QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, system design and analysis.

+ Knowledge of enterprise coding standards.

+ Hands on experience in writing highly complex code.

+ Ability to perform code reviews.

+ Knowledge of software methodologies and agile development methodologies.

III. Supervisory Responsibilities

May coach and mentor less-experienced analysts and act as team leader on systems projects.

IV. Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job.

A. Education and Experience

+ Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or similar area of study, or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant experience.

+ Experience: Five (5) years of previous experience (in addition to education requirement).

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

Advanced knowledge or skills in one or more of the following is required:

+ Knowledge of project management/change management in regards to acquisition/development life cycles.

+ Systems development, implementation, upgrades and analyses

+ QA testing, catalyst or unified business modeling, system design and analysis

+ Knowledge of enterprise coding standards.

+ Hands on experience in writing more complex code.

+ Ability to perform code reviews.

+ Knowledge of software methodologies.

+ Ability to mentor and train less knowledgeable peers and individuals.
