    Hours Full-time, indicate working hours - 7:30am-5:30pm, M-Thu 7:30-1130 Fri

    Summary of Position

    The Assistant Coordinator supports the operational and academic functions of the Computer Science Department, focusing on departmental assistance, student support and lab management. This position assists faculty and staff with instructional needs, provides front line customer service to students regarding departmental programs/resources and helps supervise lab assistants when Coordinator is unavailable.

     

    Minimum Required Education

     

    Associates Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required; prefer degree in Computer Science or closely related field.

     

    Minimum Required Experience

     

    Two years wage earning clerical experience, prefer experience in education environment or in a computer related field.

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    + Excellent written and oral communications skill. Extensive Internet skills;

    + Extremely proficient with MS Windows and MS Office;

    + Support the Department Chair and Office Coordinator in daily administrative tasks.

    + Maintain records of lab inventory, supply orders, and usage logs.

    + Help prepare materials for departmental meetings, workshops, and outreach events.

    + Serve as a backup for reception duties, including answering phones and greeting visitors.

    + Provide information to students on departmental courses, resources, and procedures.

    + Help organize student events, tutoring sessions, and faculty office hour calendars.

    + Familiarity and understanding of campus and higher education culture and operations; Reliable and trustworthy;

    + Neat in appearance and work well with others;

    + Ability to work independently;

    + Ability to follow and provide concise, clear instruction in a friendly and productive manner.
