PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION: The Senior Accountant reports to the Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration. Primary responsibilities include managing daily financial transactions and tasks related to all facets of the Company, and maintaining the accuracy and integrity in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and corporate ethics, goals, and objectives. A proficient level of accounting, business experience, and judgment are required to plan and accomplish initiatives. Performance of responsibilities is expected to be completed on an accurate and timely basis, and with minimal supervision.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Prepares and ensures accuracy and integrity of accounting and transactional records to ensure proper financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
+ Ensures compliance with applicable Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR)
+ Supports the month-end and year-end closings
+ Compiles and prepares financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
+ Prepares and manages Governmental documentation and submissions, such as annual provisional rates, incurred cost submissions, DCAA/DCMA inquiries and audits, etc
+ Establishes and monitors internal budgets (both direct and indirect)
+ Oversees the cash flow forecast and develops contingency plans for funding shortfalls or unexpected expenses
+ Prepares pricing narrative documentation and analyses for Government bid and proposal submissions
+ Reviews accounting policies and procedures and recommends modifications
+ Prepares correspondence and documents and completes special projects
+ Researches, collects, and analyzes financial data for submission of required reporting
+ Provides analysis and recommendations based on financial data
+ Stays informed about relevant regulations, especially those related to cost accounting standards
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
+ A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or business administration required
+ A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in accounting for government contractors
+ Understanding of relevant industry regulations, government contracting requirements, and cost accounting standards (GAAP, FAR, GSA, DFARS, DCAA, DCMA, etc.).
+ Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and financial reporting
+ Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and the ability to interpret financial data to support decision-making
+ Familiarity with contract terms, funding mechanisms, and compliance requirements
+ A high level of accuracy and attention to detail is crucial in maintaining precise financial records and ensuring compliance
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, clients, and subcontractors
+ Intermediate to advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Suite, including Excel
+ Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with colleagues from various departments
+ Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines in a dynamic work environment
+ Adherence to ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in financial transactions and reporting
+ Experience with Deltek CostPoint highly preferred
