Job Description Summary
Systems engineering is a cross-functional engineering discipline centered on an approach, mindset, and process. All activities that consider both the business and the technical needs of the customers with the goal of providing a quality product that meets the users needs. The discipline that executes a robust process of design, creation, and optimization of systems, consisting of identification and quantification of system requirements, creation of alternate system design concepts, performance of design trade studies, selection and implementation of the best designs and verification that the design is properly integrated and executed. Process that proceeds from concept to production to operation.
The Systems Engineer has the responsibility to design and develop photon counting CT products delivering customer workflow, feature functionality, product quality, reliability, serviceability, manufacturability, regulatory, compliance, and cost. Activities include requirements development and flow down, architecture / system design and analysis, electromechanical components integration, modeling, FMEA, developing/executing system verification and validation test procedures, reliability testing, providing support to manufacturing and field issues, and managing customer clinical evaluation sites for new product programs.

Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
+ Manages product and systems requirements, specifications and flow down. Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
+ Leading systems feature development and technical risk retirement with systems thinking
+ Manages customer clinical evaluation sites for new product programs including organizing the installation, patient scanning, and support process, managing the customer relationship, and ensuring customer feedback is communicated to the program and design teams
+ Working across functions with subsystems and platforms that include Software, Firmware, and Hardware
+ Responsible for defining product requirements for the system and work with subsystems on requirements leveling. Define and Manage interfaces between various subsystems within the system
+ Supporting, coordinating and leading technical reviews.
+ Define system test strategy and perform hands on product integration activities
+ Responsible for driving CTQ / Risk trades within the teams designing the components. Manages the overall product configuration and configuration control system.
+ Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy. Supporting, coordinating and leading technical reviews.
+ Contribute to and shape system designs, and collaborate with marketing, clinical partners and luminaries for clinical application features.
+ In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
+ Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
+ A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in STEM” majors (Physics, Technology, Engineering and Math)
+ 2+ years relevant work experience
+ Proficient in the use of software tools for analysis and simulation (MATLAB, Python, SysML, Simulink)
+ Proven ability to develop timely and effective solutions for challenging design problems
+ Demonstrate ability to pursue tasks to completion
+ Broad exposure to HW/SW/Systems design, and technical depth in one or more engineering disciplines (Electrical, Mechanical, Software, etc) and/or in Physics/Math.
Desired Characteristics:
+ Master’s/PhD in in STEM” majors (Physics, Technology, Engineering and Math)
+ 5+ years relevant work experience
+ Proficiency in Java/C/C++ programming language
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Self-starter, energizing, results oriented, and able to multi-task
+ Demonstrated problem solving ability and results orientation
