Cook - Nugget Pahrump Nugget, Gold Town & Lakeside (Pahrump, NV)

Description:

Summary:

Responsible for preparing a variety of food items, cleaning kitchen and other areas and maintaining inventory rotation.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

+ Cook all food according to predetermined menu specifications and guidelines

+ Responsible for portioning all food according to predetermined weight specifications and portion sizes in order to maintain cost controls

+ Maintain company and health sanitation requirements at all times

+ Ensure all kitchen areas and equipment remain properly cleaned

+ Completion of shift inventories and daily perpetuals

+ Accurately check in food deliveries

+ Proper rotation of all perishable food items and adherence to FIFO standards

+ Must have an understanding and proficiency in the operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils

+ Operating all necessary food preparation equipment including fryers, broilers, slicers, microwave ovens, pizza ovens, salamanders (cheese melters) and grills

+ Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff

+ Promote team work within the kitchen and all other areas of the establishment as it relates to your ability to complete the tasks assigned to you

+ Provide outstanding customer service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members

+ Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Qualifications

+ 1 year experience cooking in high volume restaurant preferred

+ Strong knowledge of kitchen equipment and sanitation guidelines

+ Previous experience working in a team or group environment

+ Able to interact with others in a professional and courteous manner

+ Ability to functionally communicate occupational-based English, both written and verbal

+ Must be at least 18 years of age

+ High school diploma or equivalent preferred

+ Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company

+ Verify right to work in the United States

Physical Requirements

+ Frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs. at floor, knee, waist, and chest levels

+ Frequently bend, reach, twist, squat, and kneel

+ Constant walking, standing, distinguishing between tastes and shades of color, and use of hearing and vision

+ Indoor

+ Extreme hot and cold temperatures, including humidity

+ Slippery surfaces, chemical agents, and exposure to dust, fumes and/or gases
