Summary:
This role is the corporate engineering document change control focal point. This includes key collaboration within change review processes, determining change effectivity dates, minimizing cost exposure for parts being phased out of production and ensuring manufacturing engineering is aware of all upcoming changes. Success in the position requires the development of strong partnerships with product managers, corporate purchasing, suppliers and manufacturing engineering.
Principal Accountabilities:
+ Drives meetings with a cross functional team to review recently submitted Engineering Change Requests (ECR’s) to ensure alignment.
+ Extends new part numbers and Bill of Materials (BOM’s) accurately into the SAP ERP system; Maintains BOMs as required.
+ Works with buyers and suppliers to establish change effectivity dates for manufacturing.
+ Communicates with manufacturing engineering on an upcoming change so that affected processes and routings can be updated as required.
+ Drives the creation of SAP Variants; Maintains these configurable products as they mature.
+ Creates costed BOMs for each product based on input from the product managers. Maintains this benchmark for each product.
+ Tracks scrap and rework costs of each engineering change, rolls it up on a quarterly basis, and reviews with product management and materials leadership.
+ Performs other job-related duties as required.
Minimum Requirements:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is preferred.
+ In lieu of degree, commensurate relevant experience will be considered.
+ Experience in an advanced manufacturing environment is strongly desired.
+ Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
+ Intermediate experience in MS Office and Excel.
Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality:
+ Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.
Physical Demands:
+ Remaining stationary for extended periods and needs to be mobile enough to navigate through work areas.
+ Requires the ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and in giving presentations.

Target Annual Pay Rate: $60,500 - $70,000 + Robust Benefits
