Job Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for creating and managing a wide range of multimedia content, focusing on both print and digital media, to support the marketing and communications initiatives of the Division of Student Affairs. They lead design projects from concept to delivery. They work collaboratively with the Student Affairs Marketing and Communications team and more than 25 departments and units, representing discipline-specific and collaborative services and programs for all students at RIT, to create cohesive and impactful products that enhance the RIT brand and engage its diverse audiences. This position will also review products developed by the multimedia team, ensuring that they meet quality and university brand standards.
+ Content Creation: Design and produce high-quality, engaging multimedia content, ensuring all products meet established standards and creative objectives.
+ Storyboarding and Concepting: Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop mood boards, storyboards, and design concepts for multimedia projects, ensuring alignment with marketing objectives and university strategies.
+ Leadership and Project Management: Use team-based tools and workflows to lead multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project specifications and university standards. Lead the conceptualization and execution of design projects, ensuring alignment with branding guidelines. Create aesthetically pleasing and effective multimedia assets, including layouts, typography, color schemes, and imagery.
+ Quality Assurance: Review multimedia materials to ensure accuracy, functionality, adherence to branding guidelines, and high-quality finished products.
+ Technical Expertise and Innovation: Utilize and stay up to date on industry-standard software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) and the latest trends and technologies in multimedia design to create and edit multimedia content.

Required Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree in graphic design, multimedia design, digital media, visual communication or related field.
+ Three years of experience working in multimedia design.
OR
*An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Skills:
+ Strong portfolio showcasing both print and digital design
+ Proficiency in multimedia design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, and other products within the Adobe Creative Suite)
+ Strong understanding of brand design principles, user experience (UX) design, and accessibility standards.
+ Ability to think creatively and develop innovative design solutions that align with business objectives.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and professional environment, while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
+ Proven leadership abilities, with the capacity to mentor and guide junior designers.
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
+ Demonstrated commitment to fostering accessibility and inclusivity
+ Ability to manage, maintain, and protect confidential and private information appropriately
+ Ability to establish, build, and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy, and honesty with diverse groups and individuals
+ Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite
+ Knowledge of Deaf culture or American Sign Language, or willingness to learn

In this highly collaborative role, you will report to the Associate Director for Creative in Student Affairs and work closely with a cross-functional team in Student Affairs Marketing and Communications, as well as many teams across the Division. You'll play a key role in developing engaging print and digital media that promote student life and support strategic Student Affairs initiatives, enhancing how we connect with students, families, and the campus community.
