Position Overview:
Work with the China team to develop and execute programs, events, and quarterly research projects for China Center team membership. Conduct research, monitor and track China-specific legislation on Capitol Hill, help write daily reports on relevant news and policy developments, and provide general administrative and logistical support.
Responsibilities:
+ Conduct research on emerging issues for American business interests in China.
+ Coordinate with the China Center staff on quarterly research projects and deliverables.
+ Oversee program and logistical coordination for meetings, events, and missions.
+ Analyze China-focused legislative developments in Congress.
+ Help manage revenues and expenses for events.
+ Maintain database and marketing materials.
+ Engage in targeted outreach and recruitment to expand China Center membership.
+ Provide other operational and administrative support as assigned.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in international affairs or a related field, particularly with an emphasis on China studies.
+ 3+ years’ experience working in China or on economic, commercial, and regulatory issues related to China.
+ Excellent writing and research skills.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Significant knowledge of current economic, technology, and national security issues affecting U.S. businesses in China.
+ Ability to contribute content for nightly policy updates, research reports, and the website.
+ Able to assist with missions, program development, speaker recruitment, communications, and research.
+ Strong organization and detail oriented.
+ Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously and meet deadlines.
+ Experience planning and managing events.
+ Advanced MS Office and computer skills.
+ Proficiency in reading Chinese strongly preferred.
The salary range for this position is $60,906.00 to $70,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
