We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long\-Range Assault Aircraft \(FLRAA\) part of the US Army's Future Vertical Lift \(FVL\) modernization effort\. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High\-Speed Vertical Take\-Off and Landing \(HSVTOL\) program, a next generation stop\-fold tilt\-rotor\. This position is onsite in Fort Worth\. **Tool Application Specialist**
Support production with cutting tool application for machining of complex aerospace components on a variety of state\-of\-the\-art machine tools\.Well\-rounded understanding of materials, surface finishes, and surface treatmentsIdentify and recommend tools best matched to the application and machining parameters\.Trouble shoot performance and tool life problems and make recommendations regarding corrective actions\.Investigating and solving manufacturing problems relating to the use of all types of cutting and abrasive machining tools and machine tool holding systems\.Provide Manufacturing Engineering with proper tool selection to prevent & resolve manufacturing cutting tool and EH&S issues\.Perform Tool Design Analysis and approvals for new and revised cutting tools\.Review tooling designs for compliance to perishable tool design standards \- Dimensions, Tolerances, Clearances, Material Specifications, Tool Marking and Package Requirements and Compliant to ANSI requirements\.Evaluate and disposition cutting tool identified nonconformance's for production use, regrind, refurbish, recycle and repurpose\.Conduct and document tool/material trials to establish tool design standards\.Identify and implement new cutting tool technologies to achieve product quality and cost targets\.Maintain a proper Tooling Inventory Master List, control records, and database\.Perform scheduled annual Tooling Audits to ensure tooling meets engineering requirements\.Resolve equipment/tooling\-related issues in a timely and comprehensive manner\.Collaborate with Facilities and EH&S Manager to ensure manufacturing processes and tooling adhere to current EH&S standards\.Expertise in all types of milling cutting tools, including indexable tools, solid carbide tools etc\.Foster open and frequent communication and collaboration with Managers, Designers, Manufacturing Engineers, and Project Owners to ensure customer satisfaction\.Perform other duties, tasks, and responsibilities as assigned\. **What you'll be doing as a Tool Application Engineer**
Contributing to the successful completion of major projects that support strategic priorities or difficult technical objectives, the Tool Application Engineering Specialist is responsible for selecting cutting tools, at the most economical cost, which will produce a part to Engineering and Manufacturing requirements\. The Specialist has the responsibility of approving special cutting tool designs and introducing new technical advancements in machine tool processes as well as maintaining an overview of cutting tool performance and usage\.
Other functions include submitting reports on budgets, cost savings, labor, tool shortages and other information required by management\.
Qualifications
What you need to be successful

Bachelor's degree or equivalent degree with 2 years of relevant experience or AA/AS degree with 3 years of relevant experience\.Minimum 2 years related tool design, tool analyst and/or tool application experience in a manufacturing setting\.Ability to Interpret tool drawings, part drawings, and manufacturing process instructions\.Basic UG/CAD experience to evaluate tool designs and/or concepts\.Knowledge of cutting tool application and metallurgy\.Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications\. **Skills You Bring To this Role**
