Summary You will serve as a IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC/ SYSANALYSIS) in the Marine Corps Logistics Base of MCLB ALBANY GA. Responsibilities You will serve as a senior Information Assurance (IA) Specialist applying a high degree of knowledge and skill in network systems administration and Information Assurance (IA) to define / select and apply appropriate safeguards to network systems. You will evaluate system acquisition/ implementation designs and plans to ensure that IA measures and requirements have been integrated and met. You will monitor and evaluate system operations to ensure compliance with governing Marine Corps IA Orders, Directives and methodologies You will provide professional Information Technology (IT) services to the Command and advises the Base Commander on all IT initiatives, including planning, programming and budgeting. You will develop and maintain a comprehensive Continuity of Operations (COOP) plan for all equipment in the computer operations center for disaster recovery. You will establish and maintain a comprehensive quality assurance program for diverse platforms that covers file back-up and recovery, equipment maintenance, and quality control of system processing and outputs. You will consult with customers to refine functional requirements and translate functional requirements into IA-related design specifications. You will determine best approaches for implementation of IA programs within the technical environment, and work with application developers to isolate and solve design problems encountered during testing and implementation stages. You will define and validate IA operational and design requirements associated with proposed new systems through consultation with program officials in customer program organizations. You will review general business and functional requirements that support the need for systems, and identifies and evaluate potential systems design approaches relevant to IA. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Must have one year of information technology related experience in the federal service or private or public sector demonstrating the following four competencies, as defined:1. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include:2. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include:3. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Advise system administrators and developers on addressing and resolving deficiencies. Participate in on-site surveys to determine status of security services provided by the Cybersecurity/IA architecture, including physical access controls. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above,4. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Advise system administrators and developers on addressing and resolving deficiencies. Participate in on-site surveys to determine status of security services provided by the Cybersecurity/IA architecture, including physical access controls. In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Perform vulnerability management; scan all networks and systems and evaluate scan results against known vulnerabilities, perform Assessment and Authorization for CISD systems; perform system classification, assess cybersecurity controls, and enforce the system security plan, perform Cybersecurity Incident management; respond to all known or suspected cybersecuirty incidents and remediation. Education Additional Information Relocation expenses (i.e. PCS) may be authorized in accordance with applicable travel regulations.
