    Job Description Summary

    Activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. As an Associate Engineer in the Test Services and Manufacturing Engineering team, your role will be to execute projects either independently or as part of a team. You will consult with your manager, as needed, for technical direction and if you have any problems or concerns. You are expected to utilize various analytical and design software tools and technical references in order to accomplish your work. Most activities will be performed under the guidance of an Engineer, SME, and/or your manager.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    + **Research** published literature, online or paper, in order to gather crucial information on product innovations, emerging research, and previous designs in the related fields to assist design development activities. You will need to use the collected information to present supporting evidence or draw conclusions to be used in determining project trajectory.

    + **Systems Engineering** activities that will include workflow development and establishing processes in support of test and manufacturing services. You will be expected to work closely with stakeholders to identify, define, and manage requirements, ensuring they are met throughout the project lifecycle. You will need to proactively identify risks, involve analysis and mitigation strategies to minimize potential problems.

    + **Design** activities that will include using design / CAD tools to make technical 2D schematics and/or 3D renderings of concepts/products, assist in material/hardware selection, as well as, evaluating manufacturing and assembly methods for components and/or integrated systems.

    + **Analysis** utilizing existing or formulated analysis tools, both spreadsheet and software, to assess performance of a given design to achieve the desired outcomes. In addition, you will have access to a suite of computational tools that enable simulation of mechanical and thermo-fluidic systems.

    + **Test** activities that will include designing experiments to confirm a systems and components’ capabilities, specifying hardware, making technical drawings, applying basic engineering analysis and knowledge to determine the experiment will meet the requirements, building hardware / software either in-house or through vendors, test set-up, data acquisition and high-level analyses, and reporting.

    + Develop and implement testing strategies to ensure the quality and functionality of products during the manufacturing process.

    + Design test systems, create test plans, and collaborate with various teams to identify and address issues.

    + Collaborate with design and production teams to ensure testability considerations are integrated into product designs.

    + Execute tests on manufactured products to verify functionality and quality and troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during testing.

    + Document test processes, procedures, and results. Implement and maintain automated test systems to increase testing efficiency.

    + Ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications through effective testing and contribute to the development and improvement of quality control processes.

    + Analyze test data to identify patterns, trends, and potential issues.

    + Provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams for continuous improvement.

    + Implement changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing processes and identify opportunities for process improvement in testing methodologies.

    + Sets up test devices using hand tools or automatic test methods. Documents test results.

    + Perform repairs and component removal or replacement

    + Follow company policies and safety regulations.

    + Performs routine go and no-go tests of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies.

    Required Qualifications

    + Bachelor's degree in engineering

    + This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.

    + Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.

    + Ability to work with engineers to develop, execute, and track the testing of new and existing products and accessories.

    + Able to utilize independent judgment with moderate supervision.

    + Experience with customers and the ability to reproduce customer problems for engineering.

    + Able to read and interpret diagrams, schematics and drawings to isolate issues found in testing.

    + Proficiency with digital tools for reporting, presenting, tracking and documenting.

     

    The base pay range for this position is $75,000 - $85,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on June 16th, 2025.
