The role you’ll contribute:
This position is responsible for a wide variety of communication needs in the Population Health Services Organization (PHSO) of Adventist Health System. The Senior Specialist will serve as the key writer, editor and support designer for physician, member and staff materials within the PHSO. Among their other duties are managing and creating content for newsletters and provider portals managed by the PHSO. Creative design support is critical to supplement the work our market and AHS creative design teams will provide. Special projects will include events and managing large collateral production projects.

+ CONTENT * Responsible for proactively generating, developing, writing, publishing and maintaining up-to-date and accurate content on a variety of channels including but not limited to the Intranet, Web, newsletters and other business communication. * Proposes topics, writes and maintains business content relevant to the PHSO’s multiple audiences: physicians, members, AHS and PHSO staff. * Manages the content and resources in support of imbedded communications programs that support the PHSO business plan. * Writes clearly and informatively, edits work for spelling and grammar, adapts writing style to the meet the audience need. * Assures flow and accuracy of content on all PHSO managed communication channels is consistent with print materials, accurate and up-to-date. Corrects errors and inconsistencies proactively or brings to the attention of the supervisor. * Proactively ensures writing standards, material presentation and design are maintained in all PHSO communication materials as well as keeping them supplied for the department.
+ CREATIVE DESIGN * Provides creative design support using Adobe suite of tools and pre-designed and approved templates. * Manages the PHSO’s interaction with the Creative Design resources in markets and at AHS corporate. * Maintains relationships and pricing structure with approved internal and external print vendors for PHSO materials. * Maintains a strong command of the multiple brands and populations within the PHSO and how they are used appropriately within design and communications.
+ SPECIAL PROJECTS * Assists with planning and staffing physician and corporate events as needed. * Manages logistics of large writing, creative design and printing projects within the PHSO. * Performs special assignments as requested by supervisor.
The expertise and experience you’ll need to succeed** **:
Minimum qualifications:
+ Four-year college degree in public relations, journalism or communications with specialized courses in computer-based layout OR equivalent years of experience.
+ Minimum five to six years’ experience in writing in a health care or business environment.
