The role you’ll contribute** **:
Prepares and organizes pharmacy medications by name and dosage, as listed on patient orders. Supports pharmacists in providing distributive pharmacy services. To provide safe and accurate medication services and to support all those involved in direct patient care.
The value you’ll bring to the team** **:
• Assists with rooming patients for appointments. Obtains accurate temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, height and weight. Documents correctly on progress note.
• Prepares patient for physical examination. Screens patients for appropriate information. Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
• Explains procedures and treatments to patients and when necessary to significant others prior to implementation.
• Reviews patient charts to ensure that all test results and correspondence are present prior to the physician seeing the patient.
• Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients. Actively performs all pharmacy technician functions and maintains active proficiency in: * Standard work parameters * Operational programs * Dispensing and compounding systems * Hospital computer systems * Medication ordering systems
• Develops operational expertise in and actively provides coverage of the technician services listed below: * Central Pharmacy * IV Room * Delivery * Controlled Substances * Medication history collection, if applicable.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed** **:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• PHAR-C - Certified Pharmacy Tech Eligible to become a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state, if applicable
