    NA Business Manager

     

    The NA Business Manager will drive the development and implementation of agricultural offset projects, aiming to improve project management, streamline processes, and utilize critical thinking for impactful results. Crucial to elevating profitability within the Carbon assets portfolio, this role guarantees data integrity and leads to the creation of technical solutions tailored to customer needs and timelines. Focuses on automation, teamwork, and innovation, the role demands a proactive leader skilled in managing projects and committed to enhancing agricultural carbon offset efforts through strategic innovation and continuous improvement.

    YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The primary responsibilities of this role are to:

    Strategic Business Analysis and Decision-making

    + Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the carbon assets portfolio to consistently achieve a margin above 40% by reducing Costs of Goods Sold (COGS) and improving operational efficiencies.

    + Track business performance based on mid- and long-term outcomes to drive strategic adjustments and ensure regional accountability and alignment.

    + Utilize metrics and data-driven insights to make informed decisions that enhance the portfolio's value and profitability.

    + Explore and implement automation solutions to optimize performance and enhance solution offerings

    + Support strong connectivity and the ability to communicate and influence key Carbon Stakeholders, including leadership to identify and prioritize high-value areas for carbon offset projects.

    + Oversee the development and implementation of technical solutions, ensuring high data quality, scalability, and verification processes align with customer expectations and deadlines.

    + Lead the management of the offset project's sales and operations planning (S&OP), defining the program's requirements and target states to ensure strategic alignment and operational efficiency.

    + Establish governance frameworks and guardrails to ensure business alignment, foster collaboration, and optimize value delivery throughout strategy deployment and resource management.

    Project Management Responsibilities

    + Design and implement clear, trackable processes for managing end to end carbon projects, focusing on quality improvement, cost efficiency, and adherence to customer timelines.

    + Identify critical steps in project execution and proactively manage potential risks or business impacts to minimize disruptions.

    + Drive technical advancements in carbon offset end to end solutions, fostering innovation and integrating new technologies where applicable.

    + Provide an integrated perspective on the interconnectedness of solutions, balancing quality, and delivery to optimize business outcomes.

    + Serve as a key consultant and advisor on offset projects, leveraging deep industry knowledge and critical thinking to guide strategic decisions and operational improvements.

    + Engage with a broad range of stakeholders, including customers, team members, and external partners, to ensure the successful execution of offset projects and alignment with business objectives.

    + Coach and support teams to evolve the DSO mindset and ways of working, including but not limited to peer-to-peer feedback to build a team with high trust and accountability.

    WHO YOU ARE

    Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

    Required:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Administration, or Engineering.

    + Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Project Management.

    + A minimum of 5 years of experience in transformation management, project management, or agile project management, supply chain and quality management or a related field.

    + A minimum of 1 year experience working under Dynamic Shared Ownership; clear demonstration of the DSO behaviors, adoption of the designing and architecting for the customer, collaborate with accountability and focus on outcomes.

    + A minimum of 2 years’ experience working with carbon or ecosystem programs

    + Demonstrated experience in quality management systems, preferably in agricultural systems.

    Preferred:

    + Strong knowledge in Agile techniques and Agile @Scale implementation; Certifications: Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe.

    + Experience in planning, developing, and facilitating global strategy in a complex, highly matrixed environment.

    + Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.

    + Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

    + Lead by example to motivate and guide self-managing teams.

    + Understanding of sustainable agriculture practices to ensure environmentally sound project outcomes.

    + Experience with environmental impact assessments to evaluate and mitigate the impacts of offset projects adequately.

    + Digital & Data Management Skills to effectively manage project data for performance tracking and reporting.

    + Familiarity with environmental regulations and certifications to ensure compliance and elevate project credibility.

    + Familiarity with DSO principles and practices.

    + Fluent in English, Portuguese, or Spanish.

    + Adaptability and Flexibility.

    + Creative Problem-Solving.

    + Emotional Intelligence (EQ).

    + Resilience and Persistence

     

    Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately $130-170k. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant).  Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..  This salary (or salary range) is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
