The role** **you** **’ll** **contribute** **:

The Risk Manager plans, develops, and administers the system's Risk Management Program for loss prevention and claims control according to federal, state, and local requirements to meet the needs of all units of the Florida Hospital – East Region.

The value** **you’ll** **bring to the team:

+ Risk Management: Oversees the system for identification and analysis of loss or injury exposure. With the help of the Risk Management Associate. Maintains both mandatory and voluntary incident reporting systems for identifying and evaluating unit specific risk issues.

+ Maintains and coordinates claims control: Reviews, or provides for review, of records and documentation on potentially compensable events, which are reported to AHS Corporate Risk Management. Additionally, provides for reporting of liability claims to administration as well as to AHS Corporate Risk Management for establishment of adequate loss reserves.

+ Patient Grievances: Assures facilitation of the patient grievance process as required by state and federal statutes. Assures that grievances are investigated and directs inquiries and complaints to appropriate directors and managers. Participates in grievance mediations when necessary. Authorizes write-offs or payments.

+ Joint Commission and Organizational Ethics: Assists in maintaining Joint Commission Accreditation. Provides direction and assistance for activities directly related to the Ethics, Rights, and Responsibilities standards. Monitors current TJC standards in these areas, educates staff, reviews policies and monitors as needed.
