    Job Summary

    Job Title: Community Involvement Specialist

     

    Reports To: Senior Director of Community Involvement

     

    Department: Community Involvement

     

    Under the direction of the Senior Director of Community Involvement, oversee community involvement efforts for Festival Foods. The position includes event management and execution, communication and community/media relations. The main responsibility of the Community Involvement Specialist is to assist with the strategic community involvement efforts designed to create and maintain a favorable public image for the company and Festival Foods brand.

    Job Description

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Plan, manage and execute in-store and off-site events and promotions.

    + Serve as a sponsorship, donation and non-profit organizational contact

    + Review and evaluate annual sponsorship contracts

    + Coordinate event logistics with community partners and internal Festival Foods departments

    + Schedule and coordinate the Festival Foods “Big Cart” for parades and/or promotions

    + Solicit and evaluate proof of performance from community partners

    + Serve as a media/company spokesperson as needed (radio, newspaper and TV)

    + Assist with projects and PR related duties as assigned by the Public Relations Supervisor

    + Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences.

    + Other duties as assigned.

    + This position will be based out of the Green Bay Support Office

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.     + Excellent organizational, time management and oral/written communication skills

    + 2-5 years public relations experience preferred

    + Advanced level of competency and working knowledge of computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)

    + Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

    + Successful networking and interpersonal skills through both face to face and electronic communication

    + Ability to work independently on a variety of tasks simultaneously

    + Proven examples of strong project management skills in support of programs, events and/or promotions

    + A bachelor’s or associates degree in public relations, marketing, business or related field or equivalent experience required
