    Are you a curious and creative rising high school senior eager to dive into the dynamic world of marketing, technology and cybersecurity? Optiv is offering a hands-on, paid summer internship that blends real-world marketing experience with cutting-edge AI tools, event planning and social impact initiatives—all within the dynamic cybersecurity industry. This part-time (20 hours/week) internship is based in Kansas City, reporting to a local Marketing Manager, with mentorship from leaders across Optiv’s marketing team. The program is designed to be engaging, challenging and rich with learning opportunities, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while having fun.

    What You’ll Work On:

    This internship places you at the heart of impactful projects that matter. Here’s what you’ll be involved in:

     

    1. Unlocking AI for Marketing: Microsoft Co-Pilot Use Cases

     

    Immerse yourself in the future of work by helping the marketing team explore how Microsoft Co-Pilot, an AI-powered assistant, can enhance creativity and efficiency. You’ll:

     

    + Collaborate with IT and Security teams to safely test and document marketing-specific use cases.

    + Identify opportunities where AI tools can streamline tasks like content creation, research and reporting.

    + Develop how-to guides and demos to facilitate team adoption of these tools.

     

    This is a unique chance to experiment with the latest AI technology and witness its transformative impact on marketing.

     

    2. Behind the Scenes of a Major Event: OptivCon Kansas City

     

    Gain event planning experience by contributing to OptivCon Kansas City, one of Optiv’s premier events scheduled for September 24, 2025. You’ll:

     

    + Assist in event planning, including logistics, outreach and creative promotions.

    + Brainstorm unique local elements to enhance the attendee experience.

    + Contribute to pre- and post-event content and communications.

     

    Bonus: Receive an invitation to return and attend the live event in September, witnessing your contributions come to life.

     

    3. Do Good, Spread the Word: Optiv Chips In (OCI) + Benevity Platform

     

    Leverage marketing to make a difference by amplifying Optiv’s employee volunteer and giving program, Optiv Chips In. You’ll:

     

    + Explore opportunities to deepen employee engagement and promote Optiv’s KC-based STEAM Lab. Learn more at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iLcSimMg6tc

    + Create engaging materials to promote the Benevity giving platform internally.

    + Interview employees to gather impactful stores.

    + Support creative campaigns to boost OCI awareness and participation.

     

    Help Employees Stay Connected and Informed: Social@Optiv Migration

     

    Social@Optiv is Optiv’s news app; a one-stop-shop for all company news, information and engagement. You will be an important member of the working committee as we migrate to a new platform. You’ll:

     

    + Collaborate with Social Media, Communications and IT teams on the project and launch plan.

    + Brainstorm ideas for employee adoption and engagement.

    + Assist with data entry and migration efforts.

    Mentorship & Professional Development:

    + Regular one-on-one meetings with your manager for guidance and feedback.

    + Exposure to marketing professionals across creative, operations, events and communications.

    + Opportunities to build your resume, navigate corporate environments and develop your personal brand.

    + Optional sessions on career paths in marketing, technology and cybersecurity.

    Who We’re Looking For:

    + Rising high school senior (Class of 2026), 3.0 GPA or higher

    + A curious mind with a positive, can-do attitude.

    + Strong communication skills with a creative flair.

    + Interest in marketing, technology, events or social impact.

    + Familiarity with Microsoft Office; enthusiasm for AI tools is a plus.

    + Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively
