**Maintenance Technician - Job Summary Below:** Perform basic electrical/mechanical troubleshooting installations and repairs. Preforms preventive maintenance on equipment and facilities as assigned. Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. Installing new production equipment. Servicing and maintaining equipment including motors, conveyor systems, transmission systems, and production-related equipment. Inspecting and assessing the functionality of production machines. Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical breakdowns. Adjusting mechanical parts using hand and machine tools. Fabricating parts for repairs and machine upgrades. Conducting routine maintenance and safety checks. Communicating with the production team and maintaining a clean work area. Preparing and submitting maintenance reports.
Primary Responsibilities are, but not limited to the following:
+ Must be supportive and involved in GPI efforts for LEAN, 5’s, Six Sigma and other Continuous Improvement programs and processes.
+ Ability to clearly understand customer requirements and deliver results to meet or exceed customer expectations.
+ Ability and responsibility to stop any process that is not meeting safety requirements and stop any process that is not meeting customer quality requirements.
+ Ability to work in a safe manner and assures co-workers work in a safe manner.
+ Performs electrical/mechanical preventative maintenance tasks to assure minimum machine downtown.
+ Performs electrical/mechanical component replacement assuring compliance with work order instructions.
+ Resolves electrical/mechanical emergency breakdowns on equipment to minimize downtime.
+ Performs electrical/mechanical installations as directed.
+ Maintains adequate records of work performed on equipment and corrective action taken.
+ Displays good work habits that will set a good example for co-workers. Continually monitors and maintains work areas to keep them clean and organized.
+ Responsible for compliance with all facility safety and quality policies and procedures including product safety and (GMPs)/Sanitation policies and procedures. Employee must continually work to promote the orderliness and cleanliness of their work area.
+ Must be supportive of GPI’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values (Integrity, Respect, Accountability, Relationships, and Teamwork).
+ Performs all other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
+ In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
+ Thorough attention to detail.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Visual color discrimination, the ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of colors.
+ Ability to work under minimal supervision.
+ Good attendance
+ The ability to work with other team members and participate in teamwork and team processes.
+ In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems maintenance.
+ Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and regulations.
+ Ability to lift and manipulate heavy equipment.
+ Good time-management skills.
+ Fabrication and welding skills
+ Keep work area clean throughout shift
+ Performs preventive maintenance on systems as scheduled in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and spare parts.
+ Schedule and perform preventative maintenance work
+ Coordinate maintenance and repair activities with production, purchasing, and manufacturing engineering departments
+ Process facility work orders as requested
