    Extraction Operator – Enderlin, ND

     

    This is an hourly level position.

    Position Summary:

    This is a full-time hourly (non-union) position at a Sunflower, Canola and Soybean Oil Processing facility. Work is on rotating shifts with the possibility of overtime and regular weekend work.

     

    Shifts rotate between 6 AM to 6 PM (Day Shift) and 6 PM to 6 AM (Night Shift) with 4 days on – 4 days off.

     

    An Extraction Operator is responsible for safely and effectively operating, monitoring, and troubleshooting the equipment and processes for the manufacturing of degummed oil. Tasks include but are not limited to maintaining safety and food safety standards, monitoring production processes, making equipment adjustments, and performing quality assurance tests. Extraction operators should demonstrate an ability to work in a high pressure environment, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

    Job Responsibilities:

    + Must demonstrate expertise in all aspects of operations while driving day to day excellence: safety, food safety, risk assessment, process execution, process control, and troubleshooting.

    + Control production operations involving many variables (flows, pressures, temperatures, etc.) by observing field temperature gauges, pressure gauges, and flow meters frequently to regulate and maintain required process parameters, making adjustments as required.

    + Operate and maintain distillation, extraction, hexane tanks and other equipment that run as a continuous process in the final step of extracting oil from sunflower, canola or soy for refinement

    + Effective and efficient at troubleshooting plant issues or driving continuous improvement

    + Daily equipment checks to ensure equipment is functioning and maintained.

    + General housekeeping of your work area, including GMP and MSS tasks.

    + Ability to step up into a supervisor role, driving execution and accountability across all aspects of operations; competent at completing supervisory tasks

    + Ability to cover vacations, overtime, and other operational gaps on an as-needed basis.

    Required Skills:

    + Ability to work from heights

    + Prior experience operating a solvent extractor and equipment is preferred

    + Must exhibit regular and prompt attendance.

    Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours.

     

    If hired, employees will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
