    Responsibilities

    This position is for a machinery controls system engineer. The main function of the candidate will be to provide lifecycle support of fieldedand futureMachinery Control Systems (MCS) on the USS ARLEIGH BURKE class of destroyer. This includes shipboard support as well as Land Based Engineering Site (LBES) support. The USS ARLEIGH BURKE MCS iscomprisedofseveralvariants spanning various technologies.The newest technology variant focuses on industry standard commercial off the shelf (COTS) equipment inclusive of ruggedized computers and programmablelogiccontroller(PLC)systems.

     

    + Lifecycle support of the supervisory machinery control system which includes, but is not limited to:

    + Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment

    + Provide technical input to the design of future Machine Control Systems

    + Develop, derive, and refine system and software requirements for future fielded systems

    + Troubleshooting complex problems offuturefielded systems (PLCbased control systems) both at LBES and shipboard

    + Review of technical documentation related to future fielded systems

    + Provide test support at LBES

    + Provide shipboard SW & HW installation support at LBESand shipboard during modernization availabilities

    + Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of future fielded systems

     

    While there may be an opportunity for a hybrid work work schedule candidates will have to be onsite during the first several months after starting.

    Required Qualifications

    Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering,or Computer Engineeringisrequiredas well 2-6 Years of experience in electrical, computer, or systems engineering as it pertains to control systems in an industrial environment

     

    + Successful applicants must be US Citizens and eitherhave an active government security clearance (DOD Secret)or the ability to receive approval upon position acceptance

    + Experience developing or managing hardware and/or software engineering requirements

    + Up to 20% travel required

    + Must have a valid US passport or the ability to obtain one upon position acceptance

    Desired Qualifications

    + Knowledge of the fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures associated withindustrialcontrol systems

    + Proficiencyin reading electrical diagrams

    + Proficiencyin the use of test tools associated with industrial control systems

    + Proficiencyin the use of diagnostic tools associated with industrial control system troubleshooting

    + Proficiencyin the use of Microsoft Office suite of applications

    + Proficient in basic computer/laptop use including advanced operations

    + Basic knowledge of network troubleshooting tools

    + Basic Technical writing ability

    + Self-motivatedandability tocomplete tasks efficiently

    + Ability to communicate effectively within an integrated team environment

    Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it's just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.

    USD $77,000.00 - USD $120,275.00 /Yr.
