Location Description Michael Foods, Inc. located in Lenox, Iowa and often called the "Pearl of the Prairie" is where you can find small town living, focused on family and friends, with big city amenities not far from reach in Des Moines, Omaha, and Kansas City. Located in southwest Iowa, Taylor county, with a population of around 1400, the Lenox area reaches far beyond the city limits with beautiful and productive fields of corn, beans, and other croplands. Lenox holds an amazing four day Rodeo every July and is home to a beautiful 36-9 hole golf course, several fishing and boating lakes, great area hunting, a beautiful city park with swimming pool, and many picnic parks. The MFI location in Lenox produces primarily pre-cooked egg patties. Responsibilities POSITION SUMMARY: The Inventory Clerk position coordinates material movement within the Lenox warehouse and the entire Michael Foods Supply Chain. This position supports the Supply Chain vision to have Michael Foods, Inc. be recognized by our customers, suppliers, and fellow Michael Foods employees as leaders of the most effective, responsive, and progressive Supply Chain organization in the food processing industry, while strategically contributing to profitable growth. This position has the responsibility to comply with Safety work rules at all times as well as an obligation to reinforce Safety as a Core Value. Ensures that all policies, procedures and activities, related to Food Safety & Quality, are followed and complied with uniformly, in an effort to reduce product and process variability. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform daily SAP transactions to maintain an updated material inventory. This will include goods receipts, inventory adjustments, pallet transfers, creating/confirming transfer orders, and post goods issue of customer sales orders. Will possess knowledge associated with material management and distribution (FIFO) Will conduct cycle counts daily recording the information on excel spreadsheets. Will perform material counts as needed to justify production usage issues. Will be forklift and power jack certified. Will possess the skills and knowledge to operate PIT equipment safely and efficiently in the day to day operation. This includes pallet placement/removal and proper load patterns for loading outbound trailers. Manage associated outside warehouse inventory – receipts and issues to other plants including operation of a fax machine. Process the knowledge necessary to conduct a finished material recall. Will schedule inbound/outbound delivery appointments and forward the information to appropriate individuals using micro-soft outlook. Must possess knowledge and accountability for following warehouse procedures. Will follow general plant GMP practices. Accurately communicate information both written and verbally with other Michael Foods employees located in various facilities. Will wear all required PPE equipment (bump cap, steel toed footwear, and insulated clothing). Required to attend monthly safety training, possess knowledge of company safety policies, and complete information necessary in achieving the quarterly safety incentives. Responsible for the distribution and completion of the monthly safety zone inspections forwarding the completed sheet to the Warehouse Supervisor for review to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Maintain accurate records associated with materials being sent Federal Express/UPS as samples. Completing SAP movements, ordering ice packs and packaging materials, physically packing of materials, and using the Federal Express/UPS web site to complete shipping documents. Provide coverage in the absence of the Warehouse Lead and the Inventory Analyst. This will include understanding MRP to distribute materials to the proper warehouse locations. Creating stock transfer orders and purchase orders to complete the movement. Understanding the amount of production received into the warehouse daily and transferring materials to accommodate production needs. Assist in the general good housekeeping of the area. Assume personal responsibility to ensure a safe and healthy workplace for everyone. Adhere to all safety policies and procedures and incorporate safety and healthy in all jobs and tasks. Adhere to Quality work practices, follow all GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety and quality. Ensure regulatory compliance at all times. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education and Experience Required:
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent preferred.
Preferred Education, Experience, and Skills:
• Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate effectively. • Basic mathematical skills and ability to perform simple operations. • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting various documents and data entry into inventory control systems. • Computer literacy, with knowledge of Microsoft Office and SAP considered a plus. • High level of organizational ability and attention to detail. • Certification on forklifts and pallet jacks required. • Good written and verbal communication skills for interaction with vendors and internal customers. • Strong customer service skills.
**Physical Requirements:** • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
