The Maintenance Planner owns and streamlines all maintenance planning activities within their manufacturing area. The Planner is responsible for organizing preventive, predictive, corrective, and project maintenance work orders in coordination with the Maintenance team, Engineering, Operations, Stores, and Procurement. The Planner defines, creates, updates, and/or modifies work procedures and maintains documentation for administrative and quality purposes. She/he places special emphasis on maintaining the on-time delivery of a preventive/predictive maintenance plan that will ensure optimum operation of the company’s assets both in the short and long term, thereby impacting the decrease in unplanned equipment downtime and lowering the total cost of ownership for their area’s assets.
You will have the opportunity to:
+ Plan Preventive / Predictive Work: Creates the appropriate work details (instructions, safety precautions, and PPE, spare parts needed, tools needed, number and type of craft resources, duration and sequence of work tasks, whether the equipment is energized or de-energized, drawings and manuals, etc.) for repetitive preventive and predictive work to the standard work templates. Develop and maintain PM/PdM/overhaul/replacement strategy for every asset that complies with operations schedule strategy.
+ Plan Corrective Maintenance Work: Similar to planning preventive/predictive work, add the appropriate work details to turn ad hoc and PM follow-up work notifications into fully planned work orders, taking care to standardize these tasks whenever possible. Ideal turnaround: 3-5 business days. Physically stage parts and tools for specific jobs and/or return what is not used to its proper storage location.
+ Lead Planning Prioritization – this includes regular area maintenance & operations meetings (typically weekly or bi-weekly) and pre-outage planning prioritization meetings.
+ Lead the annual PM quality review with support from the maintenance team. Lead hands-on CMMS training and elevate safety issues and engage in team problem-solving to resolve them.
+ Liaise across departments and influence to ensure proper work plans and data capture within the CMMS. To include but not limited to: Engineering for planning special/capital projects, Storeroom and Procurement to ensure timely part and tool availability, IT for proper data capture and correcting any system bugs, and occasionally external suppliers as required.
+ Analyze, Monitor Area Planning Metrics, and make maintenance plans and data updates. %PM and %PdM effectiveness, PM completion, MTBF (mean time between failure), etc. indicate impending failures, training needs, and/or potential PM updates are necessary. Elevate to management and execute follow-up/corrective actions.
+ Maintain (Update, Review, Add, and Remove as necessary) data for all equipment within planner’s responsible area related to PM/PdM and standard work, BOM (Bill of Materials), associated drawings, associated manuals, and standard PM/PdM tooling requirements. The planner is fully accountable for the accuracy of this data.
+ Collaborate in Maintenance Department Team Activities – Serve as backup Scheduler or Supervisor as required by area needs. Actively engage in pre-outage scheduling meetings to ensure proper identification of critical path jobs and required work sequencing. Assist Reliability Engineer in data collection and brainstorming related to Failure Root Cause Analysis.
