The Senior HR Business Partner (Sr. HRBP) serves as a strategic partner to retail leadership , driving business performance through effective people strategies. This role aligns HR practices with business goals, supporting field operations, store leadership, and corporate retail teams. The Sr. HRBP leads initiatives in workforce planning, talent development, employee relations, performance management, and organizational effectiveness in a fast-paced, customer-centric retail environment.
Essential Responsibilities
Associate Relations
+ Manages and resolves associate relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
+ Attends and participates in associate disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
+ Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
+ Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, associates, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
+ Influence and coach senior leaders on people-related matters, including talent planning and organizational development.
Recruiting, Retention, and Training
+ Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings. Contributes insights and feedback regarding potential job applicants.
+ Assists with background checks and associate eligibility verifications.
+ Identifies training needs for business units.
+ Implements new hire orientation and associate recognition programs.
+ Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure and certifications.
+ Works closely with management and associates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
+ Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
Support
+ Conducts weekly meetings with respective business leaders.
+ Conducts and organizes monthly store manager meetings.
+ Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
+ Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
+ Promote a culture of safety, inclusion, recognition, and continuous feedback.
+ Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
+ Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommends best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
+ Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning, and succession planning.
+ Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs, including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
+ 3-5 years of human resource experience is preferred.
+ SHRM-CP is a plus.
+ Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, diversity, performance management, and federal and state employment laws.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Excellent interpersonal, customer service skills and conflict resolution skills
+ Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
+ Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
+ Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
+ Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
