    What You’ll Be Doing:

    The Events and Sponsorship Associate will support the planning, coordination, and execution of external and internal events for CIBC Capital Markets in the US. This includes client-facing events, industry and charitable sponsorships, employee engagement initiatives, and community programs. You’ll work closely with senior team members to ensure smooth execution of events and alignment with business goals, while also helping to manage logistics, budgets, communications, and internal coordination. Additionally, the role will manage client hosting ticket allocation for US-based venues.

    Who You Are:

    + **Event and Sponsorship Support –** You will apply a comprehensive, conceptual, and practical understanding of the organization and assist with delivery of events, conferences, and sponsorships to a wide range of business and technical situations, from problem identification to measuring the effectiveness of implemented solutions. You will support accommodations, set-up, travel schedules, staging, food and beverage, and show coordination. You will help research and make recommendations, negotiate contracts, maintain budgets, and manage financial reconciliation. You will be required to travel occasionally to support events and industry conference sponsorships. You will work in conjunction with our US Events Director, US Business Management team, and our event and sponsorship leads (in Canada), adhering to all CIBC standards.

    + **Internal Engagement & Community Programs** – You will coordinate logistics for internal employee events, including People Network programs, volunteer days, and employee giving campaigns. You will serve as liaison with non-profit partners to coordinate community service opportunities and support communications and promotion of employee training programs.

    + **Ticket management** **–** You will be responsible for management of sports and entertainment tickets for US-based venues. You will maintain a centralized view of ticket availability, oversee orders and allocations, distribute tickets, and coordinate catering orders. You will handle post-event reconciliation of event attendees, reporting, and any financial adjustments.

    + **Time management –** You will support multiple concurrent projects, on time and on budget, to the teams’ satisfaction. You will coordinate with external vendors as required to execute events and programs within scope and with consistency. You will manage and maintain external client facing data and follow current procedures to have data updated regularly.

    + **Relationship building –** You will build relationships and work with key senior internal stakeholders to centralize event activities, and ensure all events are delivered with consistency and in a timely, effective, and cost-efficient manner.

    + **Administration –** You will need to provide weekly updates on events and sponsorships for established senior level reporting and briefing. You will be required to regularly manage event communication, RSVP tracking, expenses, and invoice submission on a timely basis.

    At CIBC, we offer a competitive total rewards package. This role has an expected salary range of $90,000-$120,000 for the New York, New York market based on experience, qualifications, and location of the position. The successful candidate may be eligible to participate in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which also may include a discretionary bonus component.
