    Eurofins Agroscience Services is searching for an Assistant Scientist I, Aquatics to work in Easton, MD.  This is an entry level position.  Recent/upcoming graduates are encouraged to apply.

    Assistant Scientist responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

    + Carries out routine experiments and procedures in accordance with all applicable regulatory (e.g. DEA, EPA, FDA, FIFRA, OECD, etc.) requirements as defined by protocol, method, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).

    + Assist/run toxicology studies, including preparing test solutions and daily maintenance of test systems.

    + Feed, water, and examine animals for signs of illness, disease, or injury sustained in the laboratory.

    + Must be comfortable with handling live animals.

    + Collect and analyze biological data.

    + Performs analysis, first level, and peer review of data for accuracy and completeness.

    + Provide guidance to technicians on the proper conduct of study assignments.

    + May assist in preparation of data and final reports for completed projects or studies.

    The ideal candidate would possess:

    + Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

    + Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

    + Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

    Basic Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor’s degree in relevant field such as chemistry, biochemistry, biology, or other directly related field or degree with comparable coursework in the above areas.

    + In rare cases, comparable demonstrated competence and experience in the relevant area may be used to substitute in whole or in part for the Bachelor’s degree.

    + Familiarity and/or experience in a laboratory setting is preferred.

    + Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

     

    Position is full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm.  Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Easton, MD are encouraged to apply.  The salary range for this position is $43,000-45,000 annual.
