Description:
St. Mary Medical Center, a member of Trinity Health-Mid Atlantic, is seeking a part time Respiratory Therapist to join our team!
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift
Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, with particular emphasis on critical care, as ordered by physicians to established standards and practices. Performs some respiratory diagnostic testing and is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and stocking of some supplies and equipment.
+ Proficient in all aspects ofadult respiratory critical care.These aspects include: thorough, demonstrable working knowledge of all ventilator systems used in this organization.
+ Is proficient in all aspects of stabilizing and caring for the neonatal/pediatric respiratory critical care patient.
+ Procures, assembles, and applies respiratory care equipment and administers medications as ordered by the physician and according to the departmental standards.
+ Performs arterial and capillary punctures and analyzes blood gases/electrolytes and co-oximetry, according to physician orders and to the departmental and regulatory standards.
+ Is proficient at performing bedside pulmonary function studies and therapeutic bronchoscopies.
+ Responds and performs CPR appropriately.This includes: a timely response to Code Blue emergency, appropriate use of resuscitation equipment, and ability to assist others with intubations, arterial punctures, and the transporting of patients, the checking, cleaning, and re-stocking of all respiratory emergency supplies.
+ Performs other related duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications** **:
+ Technical School/2 Years College / Associate’s Degree required
+ PA State license Respiratory Care Practitioner
+ Basic Life Support (BLS)
+ NBRC - RRT Registered Respiratory Therapist (CRT acceptable with RRT acquisition within 6 months of hire)
