JOB SUMMARY
Hotel design and operations are being transformed with technology at an incredible pace. Marriott’s Design Technology team defines how technology transforms the way we work with franchise owners to design, build, renovate, and operate the largest global portfolio of hotels. We leverage technology to improve the speed at which hotel properties can be built, remodeled, or converted to a Marriott portfolio brand according to Marriott’s brand standards and specifications and ensure they are run in a way that continues to meet those standards.
The Sr. Manager, Lodging and Design Technology Products sets ambitious goals, defines metrics, and delivers products and features that allow property owners and stakeholders to understand requirements for delivering, operating, and maintaining on-strategy properties. This role will support the Global Lodging Product Platform (GLPP) digital transformation and related tools/capabilities. They will lead product development of core knowledgebase and search product capabilities in support of the overall platform scope:
+ Publish standards and specs efficiently and in a manner that allows owners and stakeholder to intuitively locate, search, and consume the information that they need to deliver, operate, and maintain on-strategy properties.
+ Enable Continent partner teams to support owners’ builds, conversions, and renovations in-market at scale with workflow-enabled technology.
The ideal candidate will define a forward-looking and actionable vision for products and features and build the business case to support that vision.
CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience Required
+ 4-year degree from an accredited university
+ Five or more years of progressive experience in Digital Product Management, with a proven track record of defining, building, and deploying digital products.
+ Familiarity with knowledgebase systems, content management systems, and related technologies
+ Stays current with technological advancements and experience applying new knowledge to job
+ Knowledge of and understanding of complex algorithms
+ Experience with relevant technologies including digital.
+ Demonstrated ability to lead, influence, and collaborate effectively across the enterprise.
+ Demonstrated ability to work through challenges with stakeholders and gain alignment through influence.
+ Experience working with User Experience/User Interface Designers, Content Strategists, IT, and other business stakeholders.
Education and Experience Preferred
+ Experience in architecture or construction technologies
+ 4-year degree in Business from an accredited university
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Product Deliverables
+ Set and articulate a vision of improving platform and product capabilities via technology that enables Lodging Products teams and Owners to evaluate feasibility, build, renovate, convert, manage, and operate on-strategy hotels.
+ Report on KPIs for owned product(s). Integrate data analytics, product metrics, user experience research, competitive and market analysis, and company goals to drive a value-based prioritization of product initiatives.
+ Maintain product roadmaps for owned products and a strategic roadmap for the future publishing capabilities.
+ Experiment with products and solutions to measure value and focus investment supported by data or measurable hypotheses.
+ Identify the right path to success: build vs. buy, configure vs. customize, improve vs. replace.
+ Develop cadence and momentum for product improvements for added business value.
+ Conduct product discovery, backlog grooming, work prioritization as applicable to achieve product goals.
+ Partner with UX to develop personas and user journeys to understand pain points and information needs at each stage to drive product delivery and KPIs.
+ Conduct user research with key user groups (e.g., property owners, franchise managers, architects, designers, franchise managers, internal teams that support owners).
Product Leadership
+ Influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams of internal, external, and cross-matrix stakeholders to deliver results.
+ Define and build data-driven cases for improvements or new technology capabilities to deliver product value that articulates business case, user research / discovery, KPIs, goals, cost, expected return on investment as applicable.
+ Partner with UX and Content Strategy to ensure an optimized balance between content strategy and the human interaction with our content to drive KPIs.
+ Drive collaboration with delivery teams (such as agile product teams) to activate against each aspect of the roadmap and strategy.
+ Identify the right product, functionality, and optimization opportunities for Lodging Products capabilities through traditional discovery methods and art-of-the-possible thinking.
Product Ownership
+ Deliver a digital knowledgebase that:
+ Enables Efficient Discoverability: Users can quickly find relevant brand, design, and operational standards.
+ Optimizes Search and Access: Advanced search and intuitive navigation streamline information retrieval.
+ Supports brand execution at all property lifecycle stages: Content is tailored for building, renovating, operating, and maintaining properties in alignment with brand strategy.
+ Drive the development of intuitive platform search capabilities to enhance information retrieval, discoverability, and relevance.
+ Define and prioritize advanced search features-including semantic/AI, cosine similarity, hybrid, multimodal search, OCR, and image recognition-to ensure users can efficiently find and access the information they need.
The salary range for this position is $108,300 to $164,400 annually. Marriott offers a bonus program, comprehensive health care benefits, 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, employee stock purchase plan at 15% discount, accrued paid time off (including sick leave where applicable), life insurance, group disability insurance, travel discounts, adoption assistance, paid parental leave, health savings account (except for positions based out of or performed in Hawaii), flexible spending accounts, tuition assistance, pre-tax commuter benefits, other life and work wellness benefits, and may include other incentives such as stock awards and deferred compensation plans.
