Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Seven years of experience in office administration.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Excellent interpersonal, written and communication skills with strong planning and organization skills
+ Experience with word, spreadsheet, and presentation applications
+ High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
+ High degree of self-initiative and ability to think and work independently
+ Ability to work with groups of people and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented
+ Maintains a high level of confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Additional administrative and supervisory experience.
+ Experience with TAMU policies and procedures as they pertain to faculty matters.
+ Experience in task management and managing business operations.
+ Ten years of office administrative experience.
+ Administrative experience working in higher education.
+ Experience using Interfolio (Faculty Search, Faculty RPT, Faculty 180), and Faculty Affairs Hiring Portal.
Essential Duties/Tasks
Faculty Hiring
+ Is responsible for the administrative coordination of faculty recruitment and hiring in the College of Performance, Visualization & Fine Arts.
+ Manages the faculty hiring process using Interfolio and the faculty online hiring workflow system; includes checking for accuracy and routing all faculty hiring paperwork through the appropriate Deans for review and approval and uploading approved forms into the hiring workflow system.
+ Trains and mentors college-level faculty section staff in faculty hiring processes and in the use of the faculty online hiring workflow system.
+ Creates and maintains confidential faculty files according to record retention rules.
•Faculty Reviews
+ Responsible for the administrative coordination of the tenure/promotion and annual review process of tenure-track faculty as well as faculty in Academic Professional Track titles.
+ Trains and mentors faculty and section support staff in the preparation of dossiers for tenure & promotion, mid-term review, and tenure review upon hire.
+ Prepares promotion & tenure dossiers and recommendations for transmittal to the Vice President for Faculty Affairs.
+ Manages meetings and workshops related to tenure & promotion process as requested by Associate Dean.
+ Manages submission annual reviews of tenure-track faculty and periodic peer review and p rovides administrative support for endowed appointments.
•Admin Support for Associate Dean
+ Is responsible for the coordination of administrative activities in support of the Associate Dean in the area of faculty matters.
+ Plans and coordinates logistical and administrative support for special events, and/or long-term initiatives
+ Assists in the resolution of highly sensitive and confidential administrative matters such as open records requests and faculty grievances.
Faculty Data
+ Maintains a list of the college's faculty and d evelops and produces routine and ad hoc reports.
+ Checks and resolves with sections/programs justifications for instructor credentialing update and review IPEDS faculty data
