Job Summary:
Technical specialist and primary customer support contact to diagnose and execute complex repairs to engine products at the customer’s site.
We are looking for a talented Field Service Diesel Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Elko, NV. will make an impact in the following ways:

+ Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
+ Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
+ Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
+ Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
+ Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
+ Maintain own tools
RESPONSIBILITIES
In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:
+ Completes complex internal engine repairs
+ Performs complex unassisted engine overhauls
Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
+ Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
+ Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation
+ Technician Level III: Significant relevant technician experience; qualified to perform work on most or all of products in-scope for a technician at this location; frequently engaged in complex diagnosis and repair; requires minimal to no supervision; ability to effectively train and guide less experienced technicians of varying skillsets.
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Active daily participation in safety processes
+ Thorough documentation of repairs including record unit information and detailed steps as necessary.
+ Timely submission of service documentation.
+ Frequent communication with customer and supervisor when working remotely.
+ Independent management/reconciliation of compony issues credit cards.
+ Position subject to alternative work schedule in order to meet the needs of the customer(5/4 rotation) on-call, occasional night shifts)
+ Proactive scheduling of PTO/time off.
+ Flexibility in short notice scheduling changes including out of town assignments.
+ Attention to clean work habits at the end of shift and throughout the shift.
+ Complying to federal DOT laws while operating company vehicles - including ELD devices.
+ Professionally communicating/representing Cummins to the customer.
+ Complying with management directives as needed in support of business operations.

- A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
- Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
- A current valid license is required for this role
- This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
- This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
- 3 years driving experience
- This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age
