    About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to provide technical guidance and consultation associated with Wells Fargo Gateway and its subsystems. The manager will be overseeing definition of systems software and/or hardware requirements and will oversee determination of system specifications and/or customizations, as well as coordinating the design of subsystems and integrations.

    In this role, you will:

    + Manage a team of individual contributor engineers and less experienced engineering managers dealing with payment processing APIs

    + Ensure the craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third-party providers

    + Engage in mentoring and guiding the professional and technical development of more experienced engineers

    + Identify and recommend opportunities for developing product functional and technical strategies for the domains, as well as the development of actionable short and long-term product roadmaps, by partnering with business product managers, lead systems architects, and more experienced engineers

    + Make decisions and resolve issues regarding strategic products of engineering teams to meet business objectives

    + Oversee engineering teams to deliver commitments aligned to strategic product priorities

    + Interpret and develop security, stability, and scalability within key areas of technology risk

    + Collaborate and consult with agile teams and product managers to drive outcomes

    + Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers

    + Manage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering

    + Mentor and guide talent development of direct reports and assist in hiring talent

    Required Qualifications, US:

    + 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education

    + 2+ years of Leadership experience

    + 2+ years of Engineering Manager experience (any tech stack)

    + 3+ years of Java, microservices experience.

    + 3+ years of payment domain experience

    + 3+ years of API Gateway experience (any Gateway)

    + 3+ years of design and build of restful APIs.

    + 2+ years of API Management application lead experience

    + 1+ year of cloud platform experience including defining, building and getting applications deployed (cloud agnostic)

    Desired Qualifications:

    + 2 years of experience with enterprise CI/CD pipelines

    + 2 years of financial and digital applications domain experience (preferred with knowledge of payments, accounts)

    + Experience in handling production issues and customer/business communications

    + Experience in team development and recruiting skilled resources

    + Experience in defining the monitoring and alerting approach for larger applications

    + Experience with PI (Program Increment) planning and Agile teams

    + Experience in Crypto and Distributed Ledger technologies

    Job Expectations:

    + Ability to support team after hours as needed in emergency

    + This position offers a hybrid work schedule
